Free Advertising for Your Website or Programs

August 30th, 2008 by Mojo | No Comments | Filed in Ramblings, Website Development

I have been really in to looking at free advertising programs to draw traffic to my websites and other cash making programs.

Basically, so far I have discovered that absolutely free advertising falls in to two categories:

1) Ad Surfing

2) Ad Trading

Even if you are not interested in the income making potential of website / ad surfing programs. You can stil enjoy the benefits of free advertising. To be honest I try to keep the advertising as my focus and if I make a few bucks GREAT!

Ad Surfing

Currently I am getting some good results from these two:

TrustyPig - Smart Advertising System (www.trustypig.com)
TrustyPig - Smart Advertising System

The important thing here is to not worry about your earnings. That costs money. There are ways in each program to run your websites and ads without spending a dime!

Ad Trading Programs

Another way to get free traffic and advertising is to use Ad Trading Programs. Most of the are not compatible with Google Adsense but as most of you know, once you start affiliate marketing, who care about Google Adsense.

Here is the one I am currently testing

What article marketing company should you use?

January 29th, 2008 by Mojo | No Comments | Filed in Ramblings, Website Development

You should try this company to increase your SERPS

 RYP Marketing

One of the most effective ways to get top rankings for your websites is by article marketing.

Most people are unsure what this really is. For instance, I had someone say the other day, “I tried article marketing and I never recieved one single hit from any of the directories that the article was submitted too.”

Not the point. You article market to build links. Building links with anchor text of your choosing will help you increase your search engine rankings (SERPS).

I have kept this this a secret for a long time. But I am going to share with you who I use. This guy really produces great results and I always see an increase in SERPS after I send an order in.  It is very affordable and takes about two weeks. Customer service is great.

Here it is!!!

I use  RYP Marketing

Let me know the results.

Where do you get your Joomla, Drupal and Wordpress themes?

January 15th, 2008 by Mojo | No Comments | Filed in Open Source, Site Recommendations, Website Development

I don’t know if you have ever visited the site Themebot or not. But if you haven’t let me recommend it to you. It is pretty much a one stop shop for most free open source templates.

I remember when this guy was fist setting this site up. I tried to reverse engineer it. I know he used to use Gallery 2. But then I realized I wasn’t very interested in running a template site.

I do use it alot. Especially when I need to some quick Drupal templating. There are nice demos setup for each template so I visit to get good ideas and code snippets.

Anyway, I was just over there looking at some stuff and thought I would share it. There again , most of you probably already knew about it.

I am always a few steps behind.

Dreamhost still has a place in my web developing arsenal

September 19th, 2007 by Mojo | No Comments | Filed in Website Development

Dreamhost was my first host. I was introduced to it by a fine young man named Anthony who runs Small Park .

Most of you who have been in the web world awhile know that Dreamhost offers a great package but has failed to deliver at times. I remember a few years ago, during the California energy shortages my sites seemed to never work like I wished they would.

I host my sites and a few clients on a dedicated server from Hostgator now. But I have always kept my Dreamhost account. Why you might ask?

Well Dreamhost has some benefits that surpass the rest.

Test sites!!!!!!

Thats right. You should ALWAYS build a test site before you deploy your actual site. I even keep backups of my live site on Dreamhost so I can try new features.

First of all, Dreamhost give you a load of diskspace and bandwidth. Are they overselling? Sure, but who isn’t. Plus as I said I am only using them for test sites.

You also get UNLIMITED FREE subdomain names. So if I want to run my latest Joomla test site. I simply create the suddomain, joomlatest.dreamhosters.com, and BAM, I have a place to test my new Joomla site or any other package I might want to try.

I like it, it works for me.

Don’t forget they increase your maximum bandwidth and disk space every month you host with them. Pretty nice.
